I took some photographs of the first night of the Denver Tango Festival at the Loft at the Opera House last night. I can’t wait to go tonight to the Double Tree Stapleton and listen to my friend Jessica Schilling DJ the event.
I went to the Erie Balloon Festival Saturday at the Colorado National Golf Club. Fog blocked some of the great views of the Front Range but it was a cool sight to see a couple of dozen balloons in flight. I then watched them drift across Highway 7 into the surrounding farm fields.
I had the pleasure of shooting the reception of CILAD (Latin American Dermatologists) in Denver. The crowd was of doctors was very expressive. I enjoyed shooting the reception as each new attendee was greeted warmly by their colleagues. It’s always so much more fun to to do event photography when the crowd is engaged like this.
I hung my show last for the opening on February 5. It should be a great show. The metal prints look luminescent! Hope to see everyone at the opening between 4 and 7 pm.
I serve on the advisory board of Families of Homicide Victims and Missing Person, a victim’s organization that deals with cold case homicides and missing persons cases. I attended their annual meting this past weekend and photographed and took video of the meeting. The conference was highlighted by Kim Goldman’s Keynote address. She touched the audience with her story of loss and grief after her brother Ron Goldman was killed in 1994. I can’t believe it’s been almost twenty years since the O.J. case. It was a moving event to cover. Thanks to Joe Pryor, a high school student and budding photographer, for helping me out as well.
