  • USC Colorado Basketball 2023

Colorado played lackluster defense for much of the night and got thumped by USC 84-65 last night in Boulder. Boogie Ellis dominated for the Trojans, scoring at will against the Buffaloes. He had 21 points. KJ Simpson led the way for Colorado with 18.

  • Colorado Eastern Washington Men’s Basketball

Colorado came close to losing to an inferior opponent at home last night. Eastern Washington came into town with a 4-4 record. But a big three-point play down the stretch proved to the the difference and CU fans exhaled as the Eagles missed a shot at the buzzer that would have tied it. CU hung on to win 60-57 to improve to 7-3 on the year. The game showcased Colorado’s inconsistency. They fell fell behind 6-0 only to score the next 14 points. They took a big lead into half only to watch the Eagles whittle it back down to a point at 47-46 mid-way through the second half. Cold shooting and poor perimeter defense at the three point line once again plagued the Buffaloes. But in the end they asserted their size down low and pulled out a much needed victory.

  • Colorado Stanford Men’s Basketball 2020

Colorado earned one of its most impressive victories last night against Stanford. It started off slowly against the Cardinal, shooting just over 20% in the first half and went into the break trailing 33-22. The Buffs poured it on in the second half scoring 59 points and quickly erased a 17-point deficit. CU was aided by a scary collision early in the half when forward Evan Battey collided with Stanford’s Oscar da Silva. Battey inadvertently elbowed da Silva in the head and he had to be helped from the court after laying motionless on the baseline for several minutes. Visibly shaken, Battey joined all the players and coaches from both teams in a prayer circle at center court. Already short-handed, Stanford never recovered and the Buffs rolled to victory, 81-74.

  • Colorado vs Oregon State Basketball 2020

Colorado looked to improve its Pac-12 record after an impressive win Thursday against #4 Oregon. Unfortunately for the Buffs, it couldn’t handle the pressure down the stretch and fell to the Beavers, 76-68. A switch to a 1-3-1 zone in the final five minutes by the Beavers proved to be the Buffs’ downfall. Colorado scored only 2 points in the time frame and watched helplessly as their 10 point lead evaporated. Colorado will look to get back on the winning track against Utah next Sunday.

  • CU vs Northern Iowa NCAA Men’s Basketball

Northern Iowa pulled off the upset of Colorado in NCAA Men’s Basketball Tuesday night at the Coors Events Center in Boulder, CO defeating CU 79-76. The Panthers shot the ball well from 3-point range and scored the last six points of the contest to ice the game. A.J. Green hit a three pointer to tie the game with a minute left for Northern Iowa and Colorado turned it over with a chance to take the lead back.

  • CU vs USC Mens Basketball

CU lost again in men’s basketball, this time to budding rival USC, 75-64.  USC fought off a tough start shooting the ball to shoot over 50%  for the game and cruised to an easy victory.  Colorado seems to have hit the wall, having lost three straight after beating Arizona and Arizona State earlier in the year.

  • Colorado Men’s Basketball 2015

Colorado’s men’s basketball season came to a close Sunday with a tight victory over Arizona STate.  It has been a disappointing year for the Buffs who were picked to finish third in the Pac-12 but never got on track.  The game saw a lot of action unlike a couple of recent lackluster performances against Utah and Arizona.  Hopefully, the Buffs will do well in the Pac-12 tourney.
