I went up to Granby to photograph the mountain bike race sponsored by the Colorado High School Cycling League. Teams from around the state competed. It was a lot of fun. The changing aspen provided a dramatic backdrop for the racers. I photographed the JV race but freshman and varsity teams also competed. I look forward to shooting more races in the future.

I got back from my trip to Utah over Thanksgiving break just in time to photograph the Broomfield vs Windsor 4A Football Semifinals today. Broomfield pulled away late to advance to the championship game.
I always enjoy those athletic contests that come down to the last play. The Legacy vs Eaglecrest girls soccer game in Westminster was no exception yesterday. Eaglecrest pulled out a crazy one with an incredible goal kick with :12 left in overtime.
I photographed the 2016 Colorado High School Basketball 4A and 5A Finals at the Coors Events Center this past weekend. While all the drama was reserved for the semifinal round, the finals did provide some emotional moments. Pueblo West won its first state boys title while the Overland boys and Valor Christian girls teams won back-to-back titles. I always enjoy photographing high school basketball since so much passion is on display.
I photographed the JV and varsity boys’ basketball games between Pinnacle Charter and Faith Christian last night. Faith won both games but Pinnacle rallied to force overtime in the JV game and the varsity kept it close in the first half until Faith pulled away in the second.
I covered the Longmont Windsor 4A Football semifinal today. Windsor upset Longmont 12-6 to advance to the state finals next weekend. Three consecutive crazy plays decided the outcome in the fourth quarter. Longmont threw an interception, Windsor fumbled on the next play, and then Longmont fumbled in its end zone. What a game!
I had a crazy Saturday rotating between the Colorado HIgh School volleyball finals and the soccer finals. I photographed a handful of volleyball matches including the 4A final between Cheyenne Mountain and Lewis-Palmer. Congratulations to Cheyenne Mountain for winning the 4A state title.
I photographed the Erie Softball Festival of Champions this past weekend. The tournament features many of the top softball teams from around the Denver metro area and even a few from Oklahoma. I some good games and some great hitting from a couple of teams. I can’t wait until the state softball finals in October!
