Broomfield vs Holy Family Basketball 2026

I photographed the girls’ and boys’ basketball games between Broomfield and Holy Family last weekend. The Broomfield girls geeked out a win while the Holy Family boys survived a furious rally by Broomfield secure the victory. Broomfield dug itself a 17-0 hole to start but clawed back into the game to trail only by 9 at the half. After rapidly chipping away at the lead to start the second half, The Eagles faded down the stretch. The game featured several dunks which was exciting to see.

  • Broomfield Riverdale Ridge Girls Sweet 16

It was going to be long shot that #14 seed Riverdale Ridge could pull the upset against #3 Broomfield in the girl’s basketball Sweet 16 round. But it helps when you have the best player in the state in Brihanna Crittendon. The 6’3″ junior muscled her way through double teams all night to give the Ravens a thrilling 44-41 victory. Riverdale raced out to an early lead behind Crittendon to take an 8 point lead into halftime. The lead grew to as many as 15 in the 3rd quarter but that’ when Broomfield began to chip away. The Eagles would tie the game at 41 with just over a minute left. But after a free throw by Crittendon put the Eagles up one, 42-41, Broomfield committed a couple of costly turnovers including throwing a pass out of bounds after corralling a defensive rebound. Broomfield missed a tying three with a couple of ticks left and the celebration was on.

    Legacy Broomfield Boy’s Basketball 2022

It’s difficult for lightning to strike twice but that’s exactly what happened for the Legacy Lightning boy’s basketball team against Broomfield tonight. Legacy clawed back from a 9 point deficit with 5:41 to go to defeat Broomfield on a last-second three. This is the second time Broomfield has lost at home in heart-breaking fashion. They dropped a close one to Centaurus earlier this year in similar fashion at the buzzer.

  • Broomfield Centaurus Boy’s Basketball 2021

    Broomfield Centaurus Boy’s Basketball 2021

It is not often a boy’s basketball game comes down to the last shot to decide victory. But on Thursday night, Centaurus dug down deep and came away with a 45-44 victory in the CHSAA 4A contest. Centaurus’s Levi Rubin sank a three-pointer with :01 left on the clock to give the Warriors the win. It was the last of 3 three-pointers in the final 1:30 to erase an 8-point deficit to secure the win. The Centaurus students in attendance mobbed Rubin after the clock expired.

Broomfield controlled much of the action after halftime to pull out to a 44-36 lead. But senior center Kevin Bedford was the difference defensively for the Warriors. He blocked several shots down the stretch, paving the way for Centaurus comeback. the Warriors are now 9-0 on the year.

    Broomfield Boulder basketball 21

It was great to see high school basketball being played again in Colorado. I covered the game between Broomfield and Boulder Friday night. I was treated to a great game as Boulder eked out a victory, 51-50, on a free throw to break the tie with 8 seconds left. I’m sure the players don’t find it easy to play in masks and without fans, but the game was still enjoyable nonetheless. I can’t wait to cover more basketball games this winter.

  • Best of 2020 Wedding Photography

    Best of 2020 Wedding Photography

I thought it might be a fun way to finish off 2020 by posting a best of my wedding and engagement photography for the year. Admittedly 2020 was a tough year with the spread of COVID-19 and cancellation of scores of weddings and events, but I put the extra time to good use and learned several new techniques. I am particularly intrigued by the high key lighting used for the bouquet and bridal flowers. I hope 2021 is a great year for weddings and events.

Remember although I am located in Broomfield, I will travel across the state of Colorado for your wedding! If you questions about my packages and availability, please call Derek Regensburger at 303 478 7586 to inquire more about my services.
